Studies
1. British Study--The largest study of home births attended by American and Canadian Certified Professional Midwives, as published in the British Medical Journal, has found that home birth is safe for low risk women and involves far fewer interventions than similar births in hospitals.
2. National Birth Center Study-- A study of 11,814 women admitted for labor and delivery to 84 free-standing birth centers in the United States and following their course and that of their infants through deliver or transfer to a hospital and for at least four weeks thereafter.
3. Dutch Study—A seven year study, involving 529,688 low-risk women planning a home birth.
